SLV3 vertical triple scissor tables: high reach without a long platform

iul. 09, 2026 / De MyeDrawings    / în Workshop & Equipment

SLV3 adds a third vertical scissor stage under one platform. European manufacturers such as EdmoLift and Marco use stacked multi-scissor packages when the job is high reach on a short footprint — typically mezzanine goods transfer, first-floor handoffs, or tall work cells where a single or double stage still falls short.

What the third stage buys you
Vertical triple scissors multiply travel while keeping platform length closer to the load, not to the stroke formula of a single scissor. UK and EU catalogue language is consistent: double and triple vertical configurations give more lift travel without forcing a long deck. That is the commercial reason SLV3 exists — height first, footprint second.

Costs you must accept
More stages mean a taller collapsed package, more mass, longer lift times, and tighter demands on guidance and synchronisation. Closed height can climb into the mid-hundreds of millimetres or more on high-stroke models; lift times of a minute or more appear in European data sheets for the tallest packages. If takt time is aggressive, model the full up/down cycle before you commit.

Landings, people, and EN 1570-1
EN 1570-1 covers many lift-table applications, including limited fixed-landing cases, but the brief must state whether goods only travel, whether operators ride, and how many fixed landings are served. Mezzanine transfers often trigger extra guarding, interlocking, and public-protection thinking. Do not treat a high SLV3 as a silent substitute for a goods lift shaft without checking the installation risk assessment.

Capacity vs height
Catalogue ranges for vertical multi-scissor tables commonly span from a few hundred kilograms to around five tonnes, with strokes that can approach several metres on large platforms. Higher stroke and higher capacity rarely come free together: structural sections, cylinder sizing, and base stiffness grow quickly. State both the maximum load and the highest frequent working height — peak capacity at rarely used top height still drives the machine.

SLV3 vs SLV2 vs alternatives
Choose SLV3 when a realistic SLV2 package cannot reach the upper transfer height inside the available footprint. Prefer SLV2 when double-stage stroke already covers the process with a simpler stack. Prefer SLX for ordinary workstation travel. Prefer a dedicated goods lift architecture when you need shaft guidance, multiple landings beyond the lift-table scope, or continuous pedestrian-safe enclosure. Prefer SLH2 when the problem is long-load stability, not height.

Brief checklist for an SLV3 drawing
1) Exact upper and lower transfer heights, including pallet or fixture stack height
2) Whether a pit is allowed to recover usable H MIN
3) Rated load, centre of gravity, and deck equipment mass
4) Acceptable lift time and daily cycle count
5) Landing interfaces, guarding concept, and EN 1570-1 / site safety constraints
If those answers are written down, an SLV3 specification stays a high-reach tool — not an oversized compromise.
